Which sattalite channels could be watched in Australia ?

This is a bit broad question but thanks to people at http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/ who have made it possible for us to find it out in easy steps:
This process can be divided into two sections
(A) Selecting by providers in the region
(B) Selecting by the channels you want to watch

Selecting by providers in the region

There are different provided in every country to provide different channels, they are usually called carriers. You can find the list of the carries for Australia at http://www.lyngsat-address.com/provider/Australia.html after looking at their respective web sites you can decide what do you want to.

You can also find out what channels you want to watch, which sattalite carries it, is it free or paid ? and what kind of dish would you need ?

Following is an example of free TV channels from India:

Step 1: Select the country where this channel originally belong to, in this case its India
http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/India.html

Step 2: Select the channel and check satellite(s) gets used for its broadcast.
I chose 'DD news' which gets broadcasted using Insat 4B, Insat 3C and Intelsat10

Step 3: Let us find out if the sattelites we picked in step 2 has footprints in Australia ?
Insat 4B - NO ( http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/in4b.html)
Insat 3C - NO (http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/in3c.html)
Intelsat 10 - Yes - There seems to be footprints in some parts of Australia (http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/intel10.html)

Step 4: Dish we will need for it. After looking at more details we could see that we would be able to watch this channel from different parts of Australia. Depending upon you location and footprint frequency we should be able to decide the dish size. Its actually mentioned at http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/intel10_c.html Now we could see that we will need Dish of 235-275cm size and we will have to use C band for the reciever. FTA DVB reciever should be able to do the job to my understaning.

I am not into satallites, its just because I had wanted to know about a certain provider from India, I ended up doing all this. We need to remember that only OPTUS C1 (AURORA) is the one which coveres 99.9% population of Australia for its reception.
