Being student I went though many ups and dows few years back. here are few tips for you

1. Finding Accomondation ?

b) Uni - Notice board (most of the uni's has it) usually near to student council offices.

2. Transportation ?

Answer: Major areas of Melbourne are divided in two zones. Best part I like is that you do not need to buy diffrent tickets for Bus, Tram and Train. Same ticket works for you everywhere in public transport. International students please remamber that there is no concession tickets for you. 3. Job Search ?

What kind of jobs are in demand?

You can even search for voluntery work on other sites.

4. Weather & Clothing (Belive me its must melbourne has three weathers a day)

6. Electronic Items ?

Answer: Australian standard if 240 volts with frequency of 50Hetz. Most of the universal converters are available in super markets and hardware stored like Bunnings.

7. Australian Quarantine and Inspection ServiceAnswer:

8. Flying in Plane for the first time?

Answer:

In your hand luggage you should carry

a) Your passport and student visa, aeroplane ticket, money, important documents and valuables

b). Items that will be declared at Australian Customs, a spare copy of the front pages of your passport and visa . Please rememver once you clear customs after baggage collection you will be sent to the red channel where you will ahev to show the inboud card you filled in plane. Please declare anything if you have doubt about it.

c)emergency clothing and a jacket

d)suitcases and other luggage should be 'LOCKED' and tagged with your name, address and contact telephone numbers. This is must in case you will loose your bagagge.

Would Tata Sky work in Australia ?

So far (at least when I am writing this) to my understaning TataSky could not work in Australia. How do I know ? Its actually pretty simple with the help of few web sites from the same provider. Step 1 : Find out the provider in our case its Tata Sky Step 2: Find out which satellites it use? http://www.lyngsat-address.com/tt/Tata-Sky.html http://www.lyngsat.com/Insat-4A.html Step 3: Now we know that Tata Sky uses Insat 4A for its transmission. Its time to find out footprints of this sattalite. Use the following link: http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/in4a_ecc.html Step 4: In the footprints screen we could see that this particular satalite does not have footprints on Australia so we could not watch TataSky, UNLESS in future Tata Sky also broadcast on another satalite which has footprints in Australia (expecially the region you are in)
